35- L'impératif présent

The present imperative is used to give orders, instructions, advice, or suggestions. It takes personal pronouns "tu" (you, singular informal), "nous" (we), or "vous" (you, formal/plural) conjugation. The conjugation varies depending on the pronoun used. Formation of the present imperative: For first group verbs (-er): For "tu," remove -er from the present indicative form ; ex: Parle ! (tu) For "nous," take the present indicative form ; ex: Parlons ! (nous) For "vous," add -e to the present indicative form ; ex: Parlez ! (vous) For second and third group verbs, the conjugation is the same as the present indicative : Finir (to finish): For “tu” : Finis ! For “nous” : Finissons ! Vous : Finissez ! Prendre (to take): For “tu” : Prends ! For “nous” : Prenons ! For “vous” : Prenez ! The imperative is often used to give direct instructions or express commands. For example : Parle doucement !
